Adding a Job Assignment

To add a job assignment to your work experience, click on "Work Experience". The first time you access the program, a blank job assignment pane will appear in the panel on the right. Most of the fields are disabled and will remain so until a valid date range is entered. Enter a starting year and month (one or two digits in the range 1 to 12). Enter either "Present" for the end date or enter an ending year (a month field will appear) and ending month. If the start date precedes the end date, the other fields will be enabled.

If you wish to enter another job assignment, press "New" and a blank job assignment pane will appear.below the current pane. You should enter your assignments in reverse chronological order (from the present to the past) so that your most recent assignments will appear first in the list. You can reorder the list using the up/down arrows provided.

Enter the Company (or school), Location (city) and any general Comment or description you wish.

Select relevant job experience categories from the Categories list. (See Adding/Modifying Job Description Categories for a discussion about job categories.) Add any missing categories that will help you describe your job experience more thoroughly. For each category selected, check all the relevant job experiences that apply to this job. You will see these experience selections appear in a list on the right. They are automatically assigned a time value in years apporitioned equally across the number of years spent on this particular assignment. You can manually change any of these values. However, if the units measurement is not "years", the program will not automatically assign the time values. See the topic "Job Description Categories"
