Each resume has a template associated with its raw data. The template contains the job experience categories and their selection lists. See Adding or Modifying Job Description Categories. By default, your template is a file named "template.txx" and is located in the "templates" directory. For someone running a resume service, it may behoove you to produce different templates for different professions.
Interactive Resume Builder is designed primarily for producing a single resume, so it presents a (minor) wrinkle in dealing with templates directly--the template is associated with a resume. In the Templates menu, when you select "New" or "Open" you will receive a warning message that you can safely ignore if you have a blank, scratch or test resume loaded.
None of the infomation in the job experience panes will impact the templates, but any changes to the category list and the lists associated with each category, of course, will be stored in the current template file.
Use "New" on the Templates menu to create a new template. You will be presented with a bare bones template that has a few of only a handful of categories checked for active use. Check or uncheck the categories to make them active or inactive and, for the active categories, press "Done" then click on the category link that will appear on the menu to the left. There you can add or modify job experience selections for that particular category. If you wish to edit the list for an inactive category, click "Categories" and check the category to make it active. Press "Done" and click on the category in question to augment its list. Click "Categories" to uncheck the category again to make it inactive after you've finished editing its list.
"Open" will allow you to view and edit an existing template. Because this functionality is available only in the fully licensed product, you will be able to view and edit templates produced on other machines. WARNING: templates produced on your machine cannot be read by Interactive Resume Builder on other machines unless that copy is also fully licensed.
You can build on an existing template to produce a new template by using "Open" to access the base template and "Save As" to save the augmented copy under another name. "Save" in the File menu will save both the template and whatever resume data is currently loaded.
