Shareware vs the Fully Functional Version

The 14-day limited license allows you to create your resume job assignments and experience categories then view the assembled package in your browser. After 14 days, you can still add data to your resume, but the product will no longer produce the assembled files in HTML, Word, text or clipboard formats..

After receiving a full license, you can make your web-ready resume for an unlimited time. But not only that, you will be able to:

  1. Choose a different color scheme.
  2. Read and edit resumes produced by Interactive Resume Builder on other machines.
  3. Create and maintain separate "templates" (files containing lists of job skills) and job experience categories. See Maintaining Templates (Advanced)

If you haven't already done so, choose 'Order Full License' from the Help menu to make your copy fully functional.

You can see what your resume might look like using a different color scheme by selecting a scheme available in the 'Colors' section. Interactive Resume Builder will use the selected color scheme so you can get an idea of whether it will work for you. However, the selected color scheme will not be reflected in the html version of the resume unless you have received the full license.

The shareware version is meant for a single user doing his or her own resume. The resume (and template) data is stored in an encrypted format that can be read only on the machine where it was produced--unless you are using a fully licensed version of the product. The html format of the resume, of course, can be viewed in Internet Explorer on any machine. But if a person would like to help other people with their resumes, it is only fair to say that this person has exceeded the limits of the shareware license and should obtain the full license.

Beyond editing other people's resumes (perhaps as a favor), we get into the territory of professional use of Interactive Resume Builder. Someone offering a resume service would want to maintain different templates reflecting different kinds of jobs. The template files hold the job experience categories and the available selections for each of these categories.

A professional resume service may want to have separate templates to cover making resumes for different professions, such as computer programmer, marketing representative, plumber, mechanic and medical technition. Each of these professions use completely different terms to describe the types of job experience. The fully licensed version of Interactive Resume Builder makes it possible to maintain separate templates for each profession.

To make your copy fully functional., start Interactive Resume Builder and choose 'Order Full License' from the Help menu. (See also How to Order a Full License.)
