-   PC Angel – CD and hard-disk based recovery of Windows OS, applications and drivers, running on WinPE.

-   Master SDK – network-based factory deployment tools for installing Windows OS, applications, and drivers.

 

·        Provide direct support for customers and sales.  Resolve issues immediately or report to development.

·        Create engineering development specs based on customer input.  Follow up and deliver working solutions.

·        Intensive testing and debugging to verify intermediate and final code releases. 

·        Travel to customer sites for sales presentations, product training, implementation, and troubleshooting.

Software Development Manager.  Responsible for the design, development, and management of the Disaster Recovery CD project.  Object oriented programming using C, C++, VC 6, VC 1.52, djgpp, SWORD graphics library.

 

·        Designed, developed, and implemented Windows and DOS based solutions for BTO/CTO market.

·        Developed solutions to recover Win 95 through  Win XP.

·        Designed and implemented language support in the Recovery product for all 31 Windows languages   (including Japanese, Russian, Arabic).  Support includes screen prompts and filename handling.

·        Improved product speed by implementing direct disk access and managing the file system directly.

·        Designed NTFS support in the DOS product.

·        Worked directly with customers to develop solutions for their needs.

·        Instructed training classes for the Recovery Toolkit.

Lead Programmer.  Design, development, project management of the Disaster Recovery CD project, a CD-based application that recovers a factory Windows installation to a hard disk.  The CD is bundled with OEM PCs.  Programming platforms were Windows 3.1 through XP, and DOS.

 

·        Visual C++ 6.0, MFC, VC 1.52, djgpp.

·        Windows-based Recovery application:

Completed the engineering design while managing 3 contract programmers who developed the core of the program.  Personally finalized and debugged the shipping application.

·        DOS-based Recovery program:

Designed and implemented hardware/firmware specific solutions, fixed bugs in the DOS Recovery application.

·        Developed and implemented the first 3rd party Win NT Recovery solution.

-- Farcast  Timely completion of a front-end for the Farcast Internet based news feed service. Included integrating out-going search requests with the Magic Cap mailbox, and formatting incoming e-mail for optimal viewing on the communicator screen.

-- E-mail and TV set-top box  Developed and delivered fully functional proof-of-concept television tuner and e-mail TV set-top box, for Sony research division.  Included wireless remote, VCR control, and ability to capture video input and apply image to e-mail.

-- Game Pack  Responsible for product package design, arranging manufacturing, printing and warehousing.

 

·        Participated in planning for development and release of new products, monitored beta testing and quality control.

Senior Programmer and Project Manager.  Duties included developing, maintaining and using the Sony Electronic Book Authoring System (SEBAS).  Quickly completed software and titles for the Sony Data Discman and the Sony Multi-media CD-ROM player (MMCD player).  Used Turbo C.

 

Completed and shipped 31 Data Discman titles (28 in 1 year):

-- OAG TravelDisc   Wrote input record to SGML conversion program.

-- Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia, and other titles.

·        Responsible for enhancements, maintenance and customer support of SEBAS

·        Communicated with book publishers and other clients to clarify technical specifications, monitor project status and make product recommendations.

·        Routinely converted customer data into SGML format for use with SEBAS.
